Adam W. Ghrist is an experienced attorney and trial lawyer with more than 19 years of practice in both state and federal courts. His practice encompasses general civil litigation, business and commercial disputes, family law, criminal defense, and internal investigations for businesses and organizations.

Before joining Finegan Rinker & Ghrist as a partner, Adam served as an Assistant United States Attorney and as the First Assistant State’s Attorney for McLean County, Illinois. These roles provided him with extensive courtroom experience handling complex civil and criminal matters while developing a reputation for thoughtful legal analysis, strategic advocacy, and effective trial practice.

In addition to his litigation experience, Adam advises businesses, nonprofits, and organizations on internal investigations, helping clients navigate sensitive legal and regulatory issues with discretion and practical guidance.

Adam is also dedicated to legal education. He has served as an adjunct professor at Illinois State University, Heartland Community College, and Lincoln College, where he taught criminal law, legal research, and legal writing, mentoring future legal professionals and sharing his extensive courtroom experience.
